Utica High School Class of 1971 - Reunion Year 2006

We will be holding our 2006 Reunion (20th Year Reunion) activities the weekend of August 5-6, 2006. Mary (Arrington) Bullock suggested the 20 year reunion idea and we like thinking outside the box so thus our 20th year festivities are scheduled as follows:

FRIDAY August 4, 2006

7:00pm – 10:00pm Informal Pizza Social at Nick’s Pizza on Main Street in Utica.

  This is a non-alcoholic event.

 

SATURDAY August 5, 2006

Noon – 5:00pm Buckeye Lake Regatta and Social

6:00pm – 1:00am Pig Roast

SOME DETAILS

Pizza Social - The Informal Pizza Social is not to be confused with an Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social. The committee wanted to offer diverse events to hope to attract as many members to one event or the other as possible. It is a quiet atmosphere where we can talk and catch up with what’s going on with each other. We also wanted to offer a non-alchoholic event so everyone can feel comfortable about attending.

Buckeye Lake Regatta and Social – We are going to need all class of ’71 boats for this event. We are planning a fun day on the water hitting some of the local establishments and cruising on the lake. We are planning a party bus to and from the event. If you have a boat to offer please contact Rick Lanthorn at 740-246-5651 or email us at the website and Rick will contact you.

Pig Roast – Doug Gieger has graciously volunteered to hold a class Pig Roast at his home which is north of Utica on Rt. 13. There will be a DJ (Greg Black), a pig that gets roasted, tables, chairs, inside and outside so rain or shine we celebrate!

B.O.E. BLOCK Reunion - Details To Be Announced - Check Website or call Beth Crifield at 740-745-5947 as time gets closer for details.

In addition **(wink,wink) other clubs we were involved in will be holding special Sunday events as follows:

Math Club – a 3 hour session from Noon-4pm to see how far they can explode the square root of 2 – Hosted by Bill Lantz

Hi-Y-Club will be holding a 50 something triathlon which includes the following three events – golf and fishing to be followed by a Poker game.

The “HIGH WHY?” club will gather at the Mary Wood Rehab center from August 7 to Sep 7 for treatment.

Tri-Hi-Y Noon to 6pm - will meet to bitch about the fact that they didn’t have girls athletics while we were in school.

The Young Republicans will hold a 10:00 am $500.00 a plate brunch at the Moundbuilders Country Club because they can. Hosted by Halliburton Corp.

The Young Democrats will meet sometime Sunday but they are not sure where. They ask you to just look around and hope you find the place.

The Smoking Club will meet in the boys room at the high school near the picture of the now deceased smoking tree.

The village of Utica requests that the Science Club meet at the Water Treatment Plant to discuss the yellow mucus stuff in the city water.

The Chess Club will meet one night in Bangkok. Note: The queens they use will not excite you&ldots;

The Green peace Club will meet in Piketon to protest the Nuclear Power plant there.

The Varsity U Club will meet at the Varsity Club on Lane Ave. at the OSU Campus to wonder why none of us got a scholarship to go there even though some of us have been to the Varsity Club...

The Apathy and Procrastonators Club has postponed their meeting indefinitely

The History Club will have met at the last reunion.

The English Club Ain’t not meeting because no one noes Spanish.

The Spanish Club is holding a rally all over the country but especially in New Mexico and Arizona.

The French Club members are in hiding

The Communist Club members have mostly defected

Club Kno-Place is now defunct

ROTC members are serving in IRAQ (the only word I know with no u after the q)

Why am I getting all this AARP stuff in the mail? – that’s for old people!

** BOE Club Members – Please don’t be mad – we are not making light of your meeting – just looking for a few giggles&ldots;
